TTM Racing has announced the signing of Canadian Ryan Verra as a driver for the team’s Formula 1000 Championship Series squad.
Verra, who will make his pro junior formula car debut in 2012, will pilot the No. 5 TTM Racing Phoenix F1K-09 entry throughout the inaugural Formula 1000 Championship Series season.
“We are very excited to sign Ryan on our team,” stated the TTM boss. “We look forward to giving him all the tools to get on the podium in the Formula 1000 Championship Series.”
“I am very excited for the opportunity to race in the Formula 1000 Championship Series with TTM Racing,” said Verra. “I believe with such a high caliber team head by the experience of Mike G, and a very competitive car built by Phoenix Race Works, will allow me to put my driving to the test where the sign on the door of opportunity can only read “Push”. With such an array of strong, experienced and talented drivers on the roster, I can only look forward to learning from the best; as you can only learn from a better opponent.”
Verra hails from Calgary, Alb., and is an entrepreneur in various business ventures and TV production. He started racing motocross at the age of eight, and won the Bridgestone Academy race at Mosport, where he hopes to follow up with a win in Formula 1000 competition.
TTM Racing is looking to run two Phoenix F1K-09’s in 2012.
The F1000 Championship Series season kicks off on May 19-20, with Rounds One and Two at Mosport International Raceway in Canada.
