Australian FF: EWP Continues Hard Charging Support

AUSTRALIA (May 7, 2012) - Davies, Craig Pty Ltd has reconfirmed its support of the Australian Formula Ford Championship, with the continuation of the company's support of the "Hard Charger" award.

For the fourth year running, the innovative cooling equipment specialists will provide an award winning Electric Water Pump to the driver who improves the most over the course of a race weekend.

Drivers who have already picked up the Davies, Craig award from the opening two rounds, by virtue of their outstanding improvement over their qualifying positions, were Scott Andrews (Australian Grand Prix) and Liam Sager (Symmons Plains).

"It's fantastic to have a quality Australian-owned brand like Davies, Craig continue to support the Australian Formula Ford Championship," said Category Manager Margaret Hardy. "The EWP is a proven piece of race hardware, and over the years has been a highly sought after prize in the Formula Ford paddock."

The Davies, Craig EWP is utilised by many leading race teams worldwide, with its primary function eliminating heat soak associated with strenuous engine use.

"Since we began our involvement with the Australian Formula Ford Championship in 2009, our Electric Water Pump technology has continued to show its benefits over the belt driven mechanical water pumps in motorsport competition worldwide," Davies, Craig's John Benson said.

"The EWP/ Digital Controller system maintains optimal engine temperature control, which has a flow on effect of providing more engine power and reduced fuel consumption.

"It's for these reasons, EWP's are becoming more and more common in all manner of competition and conventional daily-drive vehicles.

"To be able to maintain our involvement with Formula Ford, and continue our motorsport involvement which dates back to the 1970s, when the company entered the electric Thermatic engine Fan market, is beneficial for all parties concerned."

The Australian Formula Ford Championship continues at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on May 18-20, in support of the V8 Supercar Championship.
