| Indy Lights: Strong Weekend for Rookie Fong |
BALTIMORE, MD. (September 4, 2012) - New to racing in the USA, Adderly Fong jumped into the Indy Lights car of Brooks Associates Racing and put on a stellar performance.
Starting sixth at Baltimore, Fong had a great start moving up to third. Falling back to fifth, he made an unexpected pit stop to redo his belts – the bumpy track and chicane had released the safety system – before heading back out to an ultimately an eighth place finish. His lap times rivaled the leaders, and without the stop, he easily would have finished in the top-five.
Fong also suffered burns during a first practice incident over the railroad tracks that left him with burned ankles when a crossover pipe burst pouring steamy hot water on him mid session. Dedicated as he is, and excited to run, he didn’t let that slow him down.
The team thanks Fong for a strong showing and kudos to the team, including engineer Lee Dkystra.
Brooks Associates Racing has long been a resource to up-and-coming drivers in the entry level formula, and is putting together its 2013 plans right now. |
