CINCINNATI, OHIO (January 27, 2010) - 2009 Atlantic Championship champion John Edwards was recently honored by the city of Cincinnati declaring January 27th John Edwards day.
The 18 year-old Edwards was honored by Mayor Mark Mallory for his recent and continued success in motorsports. Edwards, who at the age of 12 became the youngest winner of a junior formula car, recently won the 2009 Atlantic Championship title with Newman Wachs Racing. It marked the second consecutive title for the Ohio native, having captured the 2008 Star Mazda Championship crown with AIM Autosport in 2008.
While Edwards has yet to finalize his plans for the upcoming 2010 race season, he will take part in Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at race Daytona International Motor Speedway this weekend, partnering "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey. |
