| Comprent Motorsports - A Winner On and Off the Track |
Over the past few years, an often-used saying when discussing racing costs is “dollar per mile”. One area where this really stands out is the Formula Enterprises class, where great value makes it an ideal destination for karters and potential up-and-comers seeking to gain valuable experience in and out of the cockpit thanks to cost effective competition. A key component to the success in the ever-growing spec FE class is the association that drivers and teams have with their corresponding Formula Enterprises Customer Service Representative (CSR). Racers in the northern portion of Southeast Division (North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia) of the Sports Car Club of America are fortunate to work with Comprent Motorsports, a trusted name in the community.
Located Athens, Georgia, Comprent Motorsports is not only widely regarded as one the premier race prep shops in the region, with multiple championships on its resume, but now also one of the top Formula Enterprises CSR.
Founder in 1988 by Kevin Kloepfer, the goal from day one was to provide superior service via hard work and skill. Initially entering the motorsports ranks via Sports 2000 competition with a friend, it was not long before Comprent Motorsports was a force not only at its home track of Road Atlanta, but throughout the Southeast. With a reputation for providing its drivers with all the tools to achieve success behind the wheel, the Georgia squad soon became a regular contender for top honors at the year-end SCCA National Championship Runoffs, ultimately taking home a gold medal in the Formula Atlantic class in 1990, and the Sports 2000 class in 2005. Comprent Motorsports, thanks to continued quality service and an enhanced driver development program that features coaching from the likes of multiple Grand-Am Rolex Series GT winner Andrew Davis – has repeated its winning ways over the past decade in both the amateur and pro ranks. Kloepfer has helped nurture and train many future stars of motorsports, highlighted by Jonathan Goring winning the 2008 IMSA Lites title, and Sean Rayhall becoming the youngest-ever SCCA Pro Racing Champion with the 2010 Formula Enterprises Pro Series title (at the age of 15).

While the on-track results are impressive and note worthy, they are not the primary reason Comprent Motorsports was selected as the new SCCA Enterprises Customer Service for the northern part of the SCCA Southeast Division in the fall of 2010. In addition to Kloepfer’s reputation for outstanding service and hard work, Comprent Motorsports has unparalleled expertise in fabrication and maintenance. When combined with its partnerships with Elan Motorsports (the FE chassis manufacturer) and Elite Racing Transmission (the spec transmission for the FE class), this has made the Georgia race outfit ideally situated to deal with the demands of any FE racer.
“We are very proud to have Comprent Motorsports rejoin the FE program as a Customer Service Representative," stated Erik Skirmants, SCCA Enterprises President & CEO. "Kevin and his team have been at the leading edge of knowledge about the product since its launch and it was a natural fit to have them back in the Enterprises support community.”
